Omlexen

Icy, cold and dark, Omlexen is the 6th moon (out of 7) of the last planet. It orbits the mighty gas giant Yovawndra, frozen at -232 C; its so cold, its surface is made mostly of water ice and other ices like oxygen, nitrogen, ammonia and methane and others. its got a thin atmosphere of only icy dust particles and the leftovers from small geysers from internal heat. its surface also has a lot of copper in it for some strange reason, that's why there are a lot of large greenish patches on its surface.

Wow, custom brushes make painting planets go MUCH faster! And i get a LOT of detail at the same time. its awesome; but i will still always like to control it by hand as i paint. procedural generation lacks the soul and unique details that drawn by hand does, i can put love and care into every placement of my brushes and create new ones if i need to. The surface is in 3D too here. the entire painted map is 4096x2048
i still have yet to finish this solar system though. but i think i have all the major objects in now.
I do my best to use science and realism while i explore creativity doing this. that's the fun of world building! Though i am no scientist; i mean, i almost failed math class by 1%!
