Haumea Artist's Impression by Snowfall-The-Cat Haumea Artist's Impression by Snowfall-The-Cat
= Download is in the tip right =

I love Haumea. got to wonder how such a fast rotation would affect how the surface and internal structure would work. affter working so much on the textures for my WIP solar systems, Pluto, and Charon i wanted to make some artists concept textures of how i imagine how Haumea might look. all we know about it right now is that it is egg shaped from rotating so fast, and it has a red area on its surface. I dont know if it is as red as i have it here though. but who knows.
If i had to pick, a visit to Haumea would definitely be on my list of worlds to see in my lifetime. too bad the focus is on Pluto and mars so much. I bet Haumea it looks completely different then how i have it depicted. i would love to be proven wrong by the real thing!

Use the maps all you like. just Credit the artist who made it. ^^

Made in Blender 3D and GIMP

I've always wanted to create my own fictional dwarf planet maps in GIMP, but I'm never able to make it look "natural" enough like this one. Do you ever plan to make a tutorial in the future? It'd be super helpful.

Writing stuff can be difficult sometimes. Continue making awesome space art, though!

Interesting! Great work.
The fact that there are little to no craters inside your red spot implies that it is very different from the dark red areas on Pluto. I would not be surprised if this turned out to be true some day.

I'm not sure if it is this red though, i was going to tone it down a bit but oh well. i would LOVE a mission to Haumea and its moons in my lifetime. who knows what it is like =)

This Haumea texture is incredibly realistic and I bet Haumeas surface isn't much different in real life. I'd like to see textures for other dwarf planets too.

Ceres - there's (in my sources), Pluto - there's, Haumea - there's.
From official dwarf planets left to do Makemake and Eris. Everything else - as yet asteroids.

I will probably end up doing one that is less well known like Ixion or 2007 OR10 or something. i know whenever Orbiter Space Flight Simulator 2015 comes out i wanted to do the moons of Uranus so they have a proper HD 3D surface to land on too. :)

I would advise all the same to complete the official dwarf planets. Makemake and Eris is not worthy of attention? I do not think. Information about them much more than about Ixion or 2007 OR10.

no, I'm not saying they are not worth it. But id rather do them last as they are a bit more well known. it will bring more attention to the smaller ones if i do them first. i like niche things like that

they will probably wait for a few Kupier Belt and Oort Cloud objects to line up, so to speak, then do a grand tour
